About StudentPulse

The people behind 3 million student answers

StudentPulse was founded in Denmark on one frustration: institutions hear from students once a year, months too late to act. Today 65+ European institutions run continuous check-ins on our platform. This page is who we are, in facts, not adjectives.

How we got here

A short history, in things that happened

No mission-statement prose. These are the milestones, each one verifiable, each one a reason the platform works the way it does.

2021
Founded in Aalborg, Denmark. Built by a team frustrated that institutions only heard from students in the annual survey, months after the students who needed help had already left.
2022
Live in Denmark, then international the same year. Continuous check-ins replace the once-a-year survey for the first cohorts, the triage working method takes shape with the teachers and counsellors using it, and the first institutions outside Denmark go live. The European footprint has climbed steadily since.
2024
The data model is built, and the advisory board formed. Three domains, 38 topics, 155 subtopics: the structure every answer is read against. Dr. Jennifer Laffier (Ontario Tech University) and Dr. Xiangyun Du (Aalborg University) join as volunteer advisors, reviewing how we measure and interpret against the research.
2025
3 million answers. The dataset becomes the largest continuous student-experience dataset in the Nordics, and the benchmark every customer's term review is read against.
2026
The platform starts reading for you, and the data model goes public. AI reads every answer on arrival, routes each signal to the desk that can act on it, and Observations reviews the whole account every night, so nothing waits for someone to go looking. The data model is published for anyone to inspect at insights.studentpulse.io/framework.

Advisory board

Kept honest by researchers and practitioners

The framework behind every check-in (three domains, 38 topics, 155 subtopics) was developed together with our advisory board of researchers and practitioners. Independent research from EVA, the Danish Evaluation Institute, validates that several of the framework's questions are tightly linked to student completion. The board reviews how we measure and interpret against it, one advisor on the quality side, one on wellbeing. Both interviews are published in full on the blog.
